So excited to announce the premier performance of Capacitor Dance Company’s “Okeanos”<\/a>. I was a\u00a0contributing\u00a0artist and technical consultant for this amazing show exploring the earth’s oceans and our impact on them.<\/p>\n

Okeanos is a multidisciplinary portrait of the ocean as body,\u00a0resource, metaphor, and force. It is a performance to inspire and educate audiences about the ocean and connect them directly to ocean conservation.<\/p>\n

Okeanos features the distinctive artistic and technical\u00a0components that Capacitor has become known for \u2013 inventive and articulated dance vocabulary, contemporary circus, abstract structures that mirror nature, poetic integration of audio\/video\u00a0multimedia, sculptural costumes, scientifically supported content, and conservation\u00a0partnerships.Capacitor’s Okeanos premieres on\u00a0April 12 \u2013 15, 2012 in Fort Mason’s\u00a030,000 square ft Herbst Pavilion. Under the Artistic Direction of Jodi Lomask,\u00a0Capacitor’s\u00a0four dancers,\u00a0four circus artists, and two musicians perform within a constructed oceanic video\/aerial\/performance environment.\u00a0Interviews with scientific advisers Dr. Sylvia Earle and Dr. Tierney Thys punctuate the electronic sound score.<\/div>\n
